🚀 New Feature: Organization-Specific Labels and Sub-Labels

What’s New: Labels and sub-labels can now be created, managed, and used within the context of organization entity. Users with the appropriate permissions can define labels/sub-labels that are private to their organization entity and its sub-units, supporting more accurate organization, filtering, and reporting.

Why This Matters: Previously, all labels were global and shared across every organization entity. This often led to confusion, clutter, and limited reporting accuracy, especially in organizations with multiple teams or departments working independently. With this update, label management aligns with your organization’s structure, allowing for better ownership, relevance, and traceability of actionable items (initiatives).

How It Works:

• Scoped by Entity: Labels and sub-labels are now tied to the organization entity where they were created. They are visible and usable only within:

  • The same entity

  • It's child entities

• Permission-Based Creation: Only users with permissions in a given organization entity can create, edit, or delete labels for that entity and its children.

• Hierarchical Access: Labels follow your organization’s hierarchy. For example:

  • A parent entity can manage labels for its children.

  • A child entity can see labels from its parent (inherited), but not from sibling or unrelated entities.

• Context-Aware Label Selection: When working in different modules, you’ll only see and assign labels that are relevant to the actionable item’s (initiative) owning entity:

  • Strategic Plan - Label Create and Edit: Labels/sub-labels are filtered by the selected organization entity. Create, edit, or delete operations are allowed only within that scope.

  • Actionable Items (Initiative): The label/sub-label selection interface ensures only use valid labels based on the owner organization entity of a actionable item's (initiative). Inherited labels from parent organization entities are displayed for context and use.

  • Dashboard: The label/sub-label progress graph now filters and visualizes data based on the selected organization entity, including inherited labels from ancestors — but not from siblings or children.

  • Reports: All label/sub-label related reporting is now scoped to the selected organization entity, with visibility into inherited labels from parent entities. This ensures that insights are always accurate and context-specific.

• Improved focus by only seeing labels/sub-labels relevant to your organization entity or team or department.

• Cleaner dashboards and reports tailored to specific organization entity’s work.

• Better governance and control over who can define or manage labels.

• More meaningful data when tracking label/sub-label usage and progress at the organization entity level.

✨ Enhancements

• Actionable Item (Initiative) Count by Org Unit On strategic plan screen, the organization structure selection screen now shows the number of actionable items (initiative) exist within each org entity. This helps users identify where actionable item (initiative) activity already exists.

• Board View as Default The strategic plan screen now defaults to board view, offering a clean and easy-to-navigate interface while preserving your hierarchical structure.

• Improved Date Validation During Actionable Item Creation If a start and end date are the same, users will now see an error: "The end date must be a date after start date."

• Conditional Metric Step Visibility If no metrics are defined for a strategic plan, the metric tab and related setup steps will be hidden to reduce clutter and confusion.

• Clearer Messaging After Creating Organization Entity After adding a new entity to your organization structure, a clear message now reminds users to refresh the page to see changes.

📘 Other Updates

• The Metric feature is now included in the online help documentation.

• The Quick Reference Guide for SSO and Web has been updated to include metric-related capabilities.

• Various bug fixes, UI, and overall performance improvements have been implemented for a smoother user experience.
