🚀 New Feature: Actionable Item to Metric Contribution Attribution Framework

Overview: VisionSync now introduces a powerful, administratively governed framework for attributing how actionable items (initiatives) contribute to strategic metrics. This enables organizations to consistently capture, track, and report the impact of actionable items across metric categories and over time.

Key Capabilities:

  1. Configurable Metrics by Category Administrators can define and organize metrics under strategic categories (e.g., Student Success, Financial Sustainability), supporting clearer organization and focus.

  2. Contribution Governance and Tier Assignment Constraints Administrators can set rules such as:

    • Minimum and maximum number of metrics an actionable item can link to

    • Maximum number of metrics per contribution level (e.g., only one Core Catalyst, up to ten Incremental)

  3. Tier-Based Contribution Attribution Users select a Contribution Level for each actionable item-metric pair from the following administrator-defined tiers:

    • Incremental – Peripheral or indirect influence (10 points)

    • Foundational – Builds infrastructure or enables change (25 points)

    • Core Driver – One of several key contributors (50 points)

    • Transformational – Major, high-visibility driver (75 points)

    • Core Catalyst – The most critical initiative; metric unlikely to succeed without it (100 points) Each tier is mapped to a backend point value (10, 25, 50, 75, 100 respectively) for use in reporting and analysis. These point values are hidden from end users for simplicity.

  4. Temporal Contribution Tracking per Progress Period Contribution levels are captured per reporting period, with options to pre-fill the previous value and revise based on evolving strategic impact. Admins may also add contextual justifications.

Value Delivered: This feature introduces strategic clarity and measurable attribution to VisionSync’s progress tracking. It provides a standardized, flexible system to evaluate how actionable items (initiatives) contribute to key metrics, supports role evolution over time, and enhances analytics without burdening users.
